Help Us Provide One Hundred Thousand Meals for the People in Haiti!

Early 2010, after the Earthquake
March 2021 - St. Joseph Parish Needham

The impoverished country of Haiti has suffered for decades under an oppressive and corrupt government, but in January of 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake devastated the island nation.

An estimated three million people were affected by the quake. Death toll estimates ranged from 100,000 to about 160,000. The government of Haiti estimated that 250,000 residences and 30,000 commercial buildings had collapsed or were severely damaged.  And thank God, the world responded.  One of the organizations that led the charge was the CRUDEM Foundation.

Saint Joseph's Parish in Needham stood up and created an annual collection for Haiti, as did many other parishes around the country and the world, sending their funds to CRUDEM to distribute.  The results have been breathtaking.  The funds raised by St. Joseph's alone built a Medical Library and educational facility to train medical personnel.  In addition they funded a dental clinic, an intensive care unit, built a dozen houses, and more.

Our goal now is to raise enough money to provide one hundred thousand meals this year!  Won't you help us?

To donate to this cause please send your check, made out to CRUDEM Foundation to The Needham Knights of Columbus, 1211 Highland Ave., Needham, MA  02492.  In addition, in June the Knights of Columbus are planning to participate in a Pack-a-thon to package as many meals as possible (funded by Feed The Hunger) to be sent to Haiti.  If you would like to volunteer to help with our Pack-a-thon in June please contact Bob Timmerman at .

May God bless you for all you do, and please remember to pray for the good people of Haiti.
