Every Tuesday evening this summer starting June 26th at 8:00 PM, the Knights of Columbus invite you to come to our hall and watch an episode of the extraordinary documentary, Catholicism. This ten part documentary first aired on PBS and explores the oldest institution on earth. The history, teachings, and rituals of the faith are covered during one hour episodes over ten consecutive Tuesday evenings. Each episode stands alone so come to one evening or as many as you'd like! This spectacularly beautiful series delves into the Church's impact on art, culture, law, science, and much more. The teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, including His claim to being the Son of God are explored and explained. Filmed in countries all around the world, you will see the faith from many cultural perspectives and gain a new appreciation for its scale, scope, and impact on our world.
Bishop Barron's style is scholarly, yet comfortable and extremely easy to follow, drawing you in, revealing historical events, clarifying Church teachings, and showcasing a dizzying array of cultures and the impact the faith has had on them. Whether you are a devout Catholic, a non-practicing Catholic, or a non-Catholic who is curious about this amazing institution, you will come away with an entirely new understanding of the faith.
Refreshments and popcorn will be available at no cost, so join us, won't you, and get to know the Catholic Church all over again! The hall is located at 1211 Highland Ave. Needham, Ma (and we're air conditioned, so it's nice n cool!).
Also, due to increased demand during the summer months we will be accepting food donations for the Needham Community Council Food Bank each Tuesday night starting at 7:00 PM. Donations for breakfast and lunch foods are especially needed. These include cereals, breakfast bars, peanut butter, jelly, tuna fish, etc. Many thanks for anything you may be able to do to help.
